The SyFy channel television show “Eureka” aired from 2006-2012, winning several awards over it’s lifetime, including an Emmy for Best Visual Effects!  InterGalactiCon has made some calls, pulled some strings, and managed to get several Eureka residents to swing down to IGC for a reunion! Join us for an hour with Colin Ferguson (Sheriff Jack Carter), Niall Matter (Zane Donovan), Ed Quinn (Nathan Stark), and Jordan Hinson (Zoe Carter) as they talk about their experiences on-set and their antics since then!

Colin Ferguson

Colin Ferguson is a Canadian-born actor, director and producer, best known to genre fans for his lead role as Sheriff Jack Carter on the landmark SYFY series “Eureka”.

Due to being born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, he is bilingual — speaking both French and English.

After getting his start on the Nickelodeon series “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”, Ferguson went on to other TV roles including stints on “Titus”, “Becker”, “Malcolm in the Middle” and more.  In 2003, he joined the main cast of the NBC series “Coupling” (a reboot of the hit British series), portraying character Patrick Maitland.  In 2006, “Eureka” began airing on SYFY, becoming a hit with Ferguson anchoring the series as its lead until its conclusion five seasons later.

Since “Eureka” has ended, Ferguson has lent his improvisational skills and both dramatic and comedic timing to many productions, including American series such as “The Vampire Diaries” and “Haven”, while also recurring on Canadian televisions as well in shows like “Cedar Cove”.   Last year, Ferguson began appearing as Mac Sullivan in the Hallmark Channel series of “Fixer Upper” mystery TV-films.

In addition to his television and film roles, Ferguson has been the face of Maytag appliances as “The Maytag Man” since 2014, appearing in both print ads and television commercials for the company.

Niall Matter

Niall Matter is a Canadian actor, known for his recurring roles on series such as “Melrose Place”, “90210” and “Stargate Atlantis”, as well as his series lead and main cast roles in genre series such as “Eureka” and “Primeval: New World”.

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Matter grew up on his parents’ dairy farm and was a third-generation oil rigger, having worked on the oil rigs in Northern Alberta for eight years. He continued work on those rigs while simultaneously moving to Vancouver to attend school in pursuit of his long-term goal of an acting career.  After a serious accident on an oil rig, Matter made the decision to pursue acting full time.

After landing a handful of small roles, Matter auditioned for the role of Zane Donovan on “Eureka”, but took audition risks that the casting team were impressed by.  What was meant to be a one-episode guest role became a recurring character as Donovan would become a love interest for Erica Cerra’s character, “Deputy Jo Lupo”.  By the time Matter began appearing in Season Four of the series, he had been bumped to a series regular.   While on “Eureka”, Matter stayed busy by appearing in other series such as “Warehouse 13” and “Fear Itself”, while also appearing theatrically in films like Zack Snyder’s “Watchmen”.

In 2012, Matter joined the cast as the series lead of the series “Primeval: New World”, a continuation of the original British series.  The role nabbed him a Constellation Award for Best Male Performance in Sci-Fi TV, and a Leo Award nomination for Best Dramatic Performance by a Male Lead.

Since 2012, Matter has remained extremely busy with roles on series such as “Constantine”, “Rizzoli and Isles”, “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce”, “iZombie”, “Supernatural” and “The Good Doctor”.  Theatrically, Matter can next be seen in the Shane Black-directed reboot of “The Predator” franchise — due in theaters this September and co-starring Olivia Munn, Edward James Olmos and more.

Ed Quinn

Ed Quinn is an actor, musician and model who is best known for his work on genre series such as Eureka and True Blood.

After graduating from college, he worked as a model in France, Spain and Italy, while landing parts in more than 35 international television commercials. When he returned to the United States, Quinn landed the starring role of Finn in The WB summer series Young Americans. From 2006 through 2008, he played Nathan Stark in the SYFY series Eureka, reprising this role once during 2010. Since then, Quinn has kept busy with multi-episode recurring roles on series such as HBO’s True Blood (“Stan”), ABC’s Revenge (“James Allen”) and Mistresses (“Dr. Alec Adams”) and CBS’ 2 Broke Girls (“Randy”). Most recently, Quinn can be seen as Max Ferraro on the hit Netflix original series “One Day at A Time”.

In addition to his acting pursuits, Quinn is an avid musician. He studied with Joe Satriani and played in the Los Angeles-based bands Mad Theory and Scattergood, which led to a recording contract. He handled lead/rhythm guitar and vocals for the band ScatterGood, which has taken a hiatus. He has released did a solo demo CD, entitled Quinn, with three songs produced by his friend Chris Lloyd: “Because of You”, “Cause I Do” and “We Had It Made”. Another 5 song EP was released in 2013 titled “ED QUINN” and is available on iTunes and Amazon. Songs include “Lights Out Love” “Miles Away” and “Overdose”.

After starting out in commercials, she made her TV movie debut in the Disney Channel film “Go Figure”, where her portrayal of aspiring professional figure skater Katelin Kingsford meant she had to learn to ice skate. Hinson began her role as Zoe Carter on Eureka in 2006, and continued with the series to its conclusion in 2012. During that time, she also had television stints on series such as Dirt, CSI: Miami and Hank, while also appearing in A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas theatrically.
